Dull and damp

Or a typical December day. Not usually a recipe for good photos. Here' a few I tried anyway. On the plus side it was warmer than I expected and not very windy, on the downside I got caught in a heavy downpour. Fortunately it didn't last too long. The wet on the trees actually enhances their colour, and of course damp means fungi. So, what can this be?

Well the obvious answer has to be fungus of some description but I have no idea what it is. Check after read more for a picture that puts it in context.

It is growing on this old stump an the fruiting body is quite small, maybe I will check back in a few days.

And the trees

 Some more fungi

And this is a bit of fungus. It wasn't the picture I intended to take but it turned out that there was a small portion of the picture that was in focus, so I cropped it out and massaged it a little to create a semi abstract picture.

Finishing with the obligatory dog pic :)

  1. On first sight I thought these were all aliens, but I guess this has other reasons actually...
And you're right, final Sadie should be obligatory.
