Audlem Festival 2017
We, that is Sadie and DogEmptier, were invited to join a friend at Audlem Festival. Audlem is a village in Cheshire with 3 pubs and a canal, the Shroppie. All 3 pubs plus a few other places were used as venues. The musicianship was without exception of the highest quality but not all to my taste, however if you didn't like a band there would be another playing within a 100m or so.

Sadie goes for a ride
It has been a while since we visited the sea so I decided to dig out the trailer and take her along the coast to Littlehampton.

Bluebells 2
We went to the local woods today to check out the bluebells before the trees come into full leaf and the woods go dark again for the summer.

Walk Off The Earth
Thanks to my nephew for pointing this band out to me - hiya Matt. Walk Off The Earth are a Canadian multi-instrumentalist harmony vocal band with astonishing videos. Here are two of the simpler vids. When I was at school we used to experiment with 2 people playing the same guitar, as guitars at school were rare beasts, but this blew my socks off! (fortunately I have a spare pair)
They have a lot of very inventive videos - check them out.

Dog on a log
What a lovely day for a walk. The blackthorn is in full flower, the first bluebell flowering, the birds are singing, the sun is warm - what's not to like. I love this time of year.

Thorney Island
We went for a walk round Thorney Island, Sadie, my friend and I. We were very lucky with the weather again. The walk started from Emsworth and we headed east first through Brook Meadow.
Next was Slipper Mill Pond
Then east to Prinsted to join the path onto Thorney Island

Many more pictures, many many more! Click Read more below. Click on a picture for slideshow. The 16:9 format pictures are in the highest resolution available on this blog. They were selected to be used as wallpapers. I tend to like my wallpapers fairly uncluttered, I can't find my icons otherwise!

Billy Trail
The Billy Trail is a public path for walkers, cyclists and horse riders that runs down the western edge of Hayling Island in Hampshire. It follows the track of an old railway line closed by Beeching in the early 1960s. The path actually runs almost all the way to Havant station where the old Billy line joined the main railway network. I walked the trail with my faithful companion Sadie and a friend.
This is the view back towards the mainland from the start of the Billy trail. The Langstone bridge can be seen from here. The old railway line had its own bridge, now dismantled.

A perfect day
I met a friend for a coastal walk from Emsworth to Langstone. The weather was perfect and the company excellent. It was just past high tide which allowed us to walk the coastline. The tide went out as we walked exposing the mudflats so the scenery on the way back had changed.

Doris day in London
No, not the blonde bombshell (weird term) from the 1950s and 60s. No a weather bomb, a storm called Doris which swept the country and disrupted the already totally unreliable Southern Railway disservice.
Today was the day I had to travel to London 😣.

Trumpton
For all those not in the UK or older than a certain age and without kids Trumpton is, and I quote from Wikipedia:
Trumpton is a stop-motion children's television series from the producers of Camberwick Green. First shown on the BBC from January to March 1967, it was the second series in the Trumptonshire trilogy, which comprised Camberwick Green, Trumpton and Chigley.

Odds and Sods I
I have a selection of a few of the pics I have taken over the last week. I would write some witty prose but once I have sorted through all these pictures I'm all PC-eyeballed out, so to get this post up before they carry me away screaming, my comments will be brief.
I have taken many pictures of this log and will probably take many more. There is probably a picture of it somewhere else on this blog. I love the colour, the shape, the reflection and the way it changes with the light.

New Year
As for almost everybody else, yesterday was cancelled - new year starts today. Anyway, the weather yesterday was horrible. Today was sunny and cold but it was nice to be out with Sadie. We both enjoyed the walk.
We hadn't gone that far when I spotted this deer in a field.
